Pull over cont.

I was sitting around at home when I got a phone call from my dad. He told me that a police office was looking for me. My dad started to get concerned and asked what I had done. I told him nothing. He told me that the office has pulled me over last night for something and he came by the house looking for me. I knew exactly who he was talking about but I had no idea why he was looking for me again. My dad told me that he left a phone number and requested that I contact him. I jotted down the number and gave him a call.

Me: Hi, Officer Vladimir?
Officer: Yes. Is this Don?
Me: Yes, sir. How are you?
Officer: Not too bad. How are you doing?
Me: I’m a bit tired but not too bad. My dad said you were looking for me.
Officer: Yes. You remember last night I pulled you over?
Me: Yes, I do.
Officer: Well, there were some information that I forgot to write down on that paper. Could you meet me somewhere?
Me: Uhhh, yeah.
Officer: Okay, where are you now?
Me: You know the place where you pulled us over?
Officer: Yes.
Me: Well, right there. It’s the first house.
Officer: Okay. Could I meet you there in, let’s say, an hour?
Me: Is there any possibility that you can head on over earlier.
Officer: Okay, what about now? We can meet at the corner so I don’t have to come onto the property.
Me: Yeah, sure thing.
Officer: And bring the ticket with you too.
Me: Sure.

I was in the middle of working on some things so I quickly cleaned up. All the work made me thirsty so I grabbed a drink and walked over to the corner. Officer Vladimir arrived about a minute later. I walked over to his car and handed him the ticket. He wrote down some stuff and I waited. As I was waiting, I decided to make small talk.

Me: Busy night?
Officer: Yeah. I’m so busy tonight. I’m rushing everywhere.
Me: Yeah, well, that’s Hamilton for you. If you don’t mind me asking, why were we pulled over last night?
Officer: Well, I was driving along side you and I was trying to make eye contact with you to make sure that everything is alright but then you make a quick turn so I thought something was up.
Me: Oh, so it was more like bad timing because I was turning to go home.
Officer: Yes. It’s late at night and sometimes there are drivers that are in danger around this time. I just wanted to make sure but your sudden turn seemed a bit suspicious.
Me: Oh really…
Officer: Yeah, it was just a check to make sure you’re okay but instead I ended up giving you a ticket which could have been worse.
Me: Yeah, it could have.
Officer: Well, here’s your ticket back. Thanks for your cooperation and your honesty.
Me: Yeah. No problem.

So there you have it. I was pulled over because the officer thought I was in danger. The next time you see a police car driving beside you, glance over and make eye contact or else he’ll think you’re in danger. If you don’t, you might get pulled over like I did. I was fine but in turn, I received a ticket for not having my ownership with me. I’ll have to pay $110 soon or later but I’ll pay it later.
