This site has been resigned in order to participate in the May 1st Reboot and the CSS Reboot. The May 1st Reboot is an event that has been occurring since 2000. It is a day where web designers from around the world revamp their existing layout with a totally fresh new design. On April 25, 2006, all the participants upload a page that contains the Reboot logo. For one week, the index page remains that ways. On May 1st, 2006 at 2:00pm GMT, 10:00 EST, all the participants would upload their designs to their servers. A panel of judges will take a look and see who has the best. You already know the answer to that, right?
I’ve seen some of the designs of the other participants and let me tell you, wow! They were very impressive. I’m not sure if I stand a chance. But I’m not in it to win. I’m not sure if the judges are going to be giving feedbacks on the design or not but I hope they do. I’m very interested in what others think about my site. I still consider myself an amateur when it comes to web design and I’m always looking for ways to improve my skills.
This event has made me more interested in web designing. For the last few days, all I’ve done was create templates, think of new layouts and experimented with graphics. It’s just another step I take before computer a professional at what I do. I really enjoy creating websites and I hope I will be able to do this as a full time job, not for some company, but for my own company. I’ll have to wait and see if I can expand my knowledge of the field and better my skills. I believe that this field is very competitive and I’m not going to stand a chance unless I do my best.
The last few version of my site has only scratched the surface of what I’m capable of doing. Lately, I’ve noticed that I am able to accomplish things that I doubt I could do. But given a short amount of time to complete a project before the deadline, I know now that I can do a lot more than I think I can. So, during the up coming week, look forward to a lot of progress. I just hope I don’t lose this momentum so I can finally finish up some of the projects that I’ve started but never completed.
As always, feedbacks are always welcome!
